Potting machines use elevator chains to move the substrate from the substrate reservoir to the top of the machine. This chain rotates over two different axes, namely the lower and the upper axis. These shafts consist of steel base shafts with 2 sprockets on top of them. Without these shafts, the elevator does not function and the potting machine does not have a regular substrate supply. This makes elevator chains an essential part of potting machines.
